Applications
Electronic waste recycling lines serve the recovery chain from collection through to refined material.
- E-Waste Recycling Facilities: processes collected equipment into ferrous, non-ferrous, polymer, and powder fractions for onward sale.
- Scrap Metal Processors: adds capability so whole appliances and cable become accepted feedstock rather than discounted grades.
- WEEE Treatment Operators: handles the separate treatment categories that regulators apply to different equipment types.
- Municipal Collection Programs: converts bulky white goods and electronics gathered through takeback schemes into recoverable material.
- IT Asset Disposition Providers: combines data destruction with material recovery in one controlled workflow.
- Electronics Manufacturers: recovers value from production scrap, warranty returns, and decommissioned equipment.
- Data Center Operators: retires storage media and structured cabling generated during refresh and shutdown projects.
- Copper Refiners and Smelters: receives concentrated copper granules and powder as prepared feed material.
- Retailer Takeback Programs: processes units returned through trade-in and delivery exchange at volume.
- Waste Management Contractors: brings electronic waste treatment in house instead of routing material to third parties.
Electronic Waste Recycling Line Range
The four lines address different waste streams, and a facility handling more than one can run them alongside each other.
Refrigerator Recycling Line (ToronEWR™ Refri)
The Refri line shreds and separates cooling appliances at 50 to 120 units per hour, yielding iron, aluminum, copper, plastic, and compacted polyurethane foam. Nitrogen inerting at the shredder holds down the ignition risk that released blowing agent creates, and hydraulic compaction reduces foam volume eightfold without generating heat. Units must arrive with refrigerant and compressor already removed.
Copper Wire and Cable Recycling Line (ToronEWR™ Wire)
The Wire line separates copper conductor from insulation at 200 to 2,000 kg/h using air classification, friction milling, and electrostatic sorting in sequence. Running three separation principles rather than one is what carries copper recovery past 99 percent according to supplier data. The process is dry throughout, so no wash water or burning is involved.
PCB Recycling Line (ToronEWR™ PCB)
The PCB line recovers copper powder from circuit board scrap at roughly 3,000 tons per year, with metal recovery between 93 and 98 percent. Staged crushing liberates copper from laminate, then air classification and vibrating gravity separation split the metal from the non-metal fraction. The whole process runs sealed, and captured dust returns to the product stream.
HDD & SSD Data Destruction System (ToronEWR™ HDD/SSD)
The HDD/SSD unit destroys storage media by opposed mechanical shearing, producing 20 to 40 mm fragments in its base configuration. Hard drives, solid-state drives, tape, optical discs, USB devices, boards, and loose chips all run in the same chamber. Built as a mobile cabinet, it suits secure rooms rather than plant floors, and shredded output stays recoverable as scrap.
How to Choose the Right Electronic Waste Recycling Line
- For refrigerators, freezers, and cooling appliances: choose the Refri line, which includes the nitrogen inerting and foam handling that insulation blowing agent requires.
- For scrap cable and wire in volume: choose the Wire line, where three separation stages recover fine conductors that density sorting alone leaves behind.
- For circuit board scrap, frames, and drilling powder: choose the PCB line, built around staged crushing with sealed dust capture.
- For data-bearing drives and storage media: choose the HDD/SSD system, and confirm the particle size your destruction policy requires before specifying the configuration.
- For facilities handling several streams: the lines operate independently, so you can commission one first and add others as volumes justify them.
- For output sold under contract: specify the separation stages against the purity and particle size your refiner or mill accepts.
