Applications
These lines handle the residual streams that primary shredding and ferrous separation leave behind. Typical uses include:
- End-of-Life Vehicle Recycling: recovers copper, aluminum, brass, stainless steel, and plastics from car shredder fluff.
- Scrap Yards and Shredder Operators: upgrade residue and tailings into metal concentrates instead of paying for disposal.
- Non-Ferrous Concentrate Production: deliver alloy-graded aluminum, copper, brass, and zinc fractions to smelters and refiners.
- WEEE Processing: separate copper wire, aluminum, and housing plastics from shredded e-waste.
- Incinerator Bottom Ash: pull ferrous and non-ferrous metals out of MSW bottom ash and post-combustion residue.
- Plastic Reclamation: produce cleaned PP, PE, and ABS flakes for extrusion, pelletizing, or downcycling.
Shredder Residue Solutions Range
The range follows the material as it moves through a shredder residue plant. Each line handles a different fraction and can run alone or as part of a combined system.
Automotive Shredder Residue (ASR) Pre-Sorting Line
This line is the first stage for raw shredder fluff. A trommel and flip-flow screen size the feed, and a vertical air separator strips foam, film, and dust. Magnets, an eccentric eddy current separator, and sensor sorters then recover ferrous, non-ferrous, and stainless-steel fractions. Online and offline versions handle roughly 1 to 20+ t/h.
Shredder Residue Metal Recovery Line
This line upgrades tailings and mixed non-ferrous concentrate into higher-purity metal products. Induction, LIBS, X-ray transmission, and optical sorters target the fine and mid-size metals that primary lines miss. Outputs include alloy-graded aluminum, copper, brass, zinc, and stainless steel. Typical capacity sits between 4 and 20+ t/h.
ASR Plastics Washing & Recycling Line
This line reclaims the plastic fraction left once the metals come out. Magnets, a concentric eddy current separator, and an induction sorter clear metal before the water bath. Sink-float tanks, a friction washer, and two dryers then deliver clean, dry flakes. Capacity runs between 500 and 3,000+ kg/h.
How to Choose the Right Shredder Residue Solution
- For raw, damp shredder fluff with high foam and dust: start with the ASR Pre-Sorting Line.
- For tailings that still hold fine copper, aluminum, or stainless steel: choose the Shredder Residue Metal Recovery Line.
- For alloy-graded aluminum or cast versus wrought separation: choose the Metal Recovery Line with LIBS and X-ray transmission sorting.
- For the plastic fraction left after metal removal: add the ASR Plastics Washing & Recycling Line.
- For smaller sites: the pre-sorting line scales down to about 1 t/h, and the plastics line to about 500 kg/h.
- For a complete residue plant: run all three lines in sequence so each stage feeds the next.
