Tissue Embedding System
A Tissue Embedding System is used to prepare paraffin blocks for microtomy by keeping paraffin at a controlled dispensing temperature while giving the operator a heated working area for tissue orientation in molds. After the specimen is positioned and paraffin is dispensed, the block is cooled so it becomes stable for trimming and sectioning. This makes the embedding step one of the most important parts of routine histology and pathology preparation.
ToronTES™ 's Embedding System series is designed to support that workflow with different levels of heating, cooling, and bench integration. The lineup includes basic paraffin embedding stations, embedding systems with built-in cooling combinations, dedicated cold plates, atomization freezing systems, paraffin dispensers, and wax trimmers. Together, these systems help laboratories build a more complete tissue-preparation workflow around embedding, cooling, and block finishing.
Across the series, the common focus is practical daily operation. The brochure highlights features such as programmable timing, LCD temperature display, large paraffin capacity, cold-plate integration, small cold spots for localized cooling, forceps-heating positions, paraffin collection drawers, and optional magnified lighting. These details are meant to help operators work more efficiently while keeping tissue blocks consistent and easier to handle.
Product Line Up
- Tissue Cold Plate – ToronTES™ TCP: is a standalone or integrated cold plate for cooling embedded tissue blocks after paraffin embedding and before sectioning. It uses compressor-based cooling, reaches about -20°C in 5 to 10 minutes, and is available in multiple sizes for different cassette and mold capacities.
- Basic Tissue Embedding System – ToronTES™ 1500: is a compact bench-top Embedding System for routine paraffin embedding. It includes button-panel control, automated processor control, LCD temperature display, a 6000 mL paraffin bath, timed startup and shutdown, and optional cold-plate expansion.
- Tissue Embedding System (Cooling Combination) – ToronTES™ 2500: combines an embedding unit with a freezing part in one coordinated workstation. It offers individually adjustable heated zones, a dedicated cold plate, programmable timing, and support for smoother transition from embedding to block stabilization.
- Pro Tissue Embedding System (Cooling Combination) – ToronTES™ 3500: is a more complete Tissue Embedding System with integrated heating and cooling support. It includes a small cold spot in the worktable, a separate cold plate, programmable memory and auto-recovery, direct temperature visibility, and optional magnified lighting for detailed specimen positioning.
- Industrial Tissue Embedding System (Cooling Combination) – ToronTES™ 4500: is the higher-capacity version of the cooling-combination platform. It is designed for higher-volume daily block preparation, with a larger cooling capacity, robust hot-and-cold workflow support, and a layout suited for laboratories that process more cassettes and molds in routine use.
- Complete Tissue Embedding System (Cooling Combination) – ToronTES™ 5500: is a compact embedding platform with localized cooling support built into the service area. It uses a semiconductor cold spot, adjustable cold plate, temperature-controlled ice tank, and gooseneck magnifier with light to support more controlled specimen positioning.
- Atomization Freezing System – ToronTES™ AFS 700: is a cold-plate-based freezing unit with added atomization capability. It provides atomization and cold atomization modes to help reduce section rolling and improve section flatness during slicing, while accommodating about 70 embedded cassettes.
- Paraffin Dispenser – ToronTES™ PD 5000: is a compact wax-dispensing support unit with a 5 L wax tank, adjustable melting temperature, panel or foot-switch control, and timed on/off scheduling. It works well beside an embedding center or as a dedicated paraffin station in smaller labs.
- Wax Trimmer – ToronTES™ WT : is a bench-top heated trimming unit for removing excess paraffin from tissue blocks. It supports cleaner block preparation before storage or microtome sectioning and helps keep paraffin block finishing simple and consistent.
Why Choose the Embedding System Series from Torontech?
Broad workflow coverage
Torontech’s Embedding System series covers more than just paraffin dispensing. The lineup supports the full bench workflow around embedding, cooling, trimming, and block preparation. That gives labs the flexibility to choose a single workstation or combine several units into a more complete tissue-preparation setup.
Multiple configurations for different lab needs
The series includes basic embedding stations, cooling-combination systems, standalone cold plates, freezing systems, paraffin dispensers, and wax trimmers. This makes it easier to match the equipment to lab size, sample volume, and workflow preference. Smaller labs can start with a compact setup, while higher-throughput labs can move to combined hot-and-cold systems with greater capacity.
Better control during embedding and cooling
Several Torontech models combine heated paraffin handling with localized or dedicated cooling. That helps users move more smoothly from tissue orientation to block stabilization, which can improve consistency and reduce unnecessary handling between stations.
Practical features for daily bench work
The series emphasizes features that matter in routine laboratory operation, including programmable timing, LCD temperature display, foot-switch control, large paraffin capacity, forceps-heating positions, paraffin collection drawers, memory functions, and optional magnified lighting. These features help make daily embedding work more efficient and easier to manage.
Flexible bench layout
Several systems in the lineup can be arranged flexibly between hot and cold sections, while others can work independently beside a microtome or embedding center. That flexibility is valuable for labs trying to optimize bench space without sacrificing workflow convenience.
Scalable product family
Torontech offers an embedding product family that can scale with the lab. A user can begin with a basic Tissue Embedding System, add a cold plate or paraffin dispenser, or move to a more advanced cooling-combination workstation as demand grows. This makes the series a practical long-term choice for pathology, histology, research, and teaching laboratories.
