Wax Trimmer - ToronTES™ WT
Wax Trimmer ToronTES™ WT is a bench-top heated trimming unit designed to remove excess paraffin from tissue blocks during routine histology and pathology workflows. It provides a controlled warm surface that helps soften outer wax quickly, making block cleanup easier before embedding review, storage, or microtome sectioning.
This Wax Trimmer is built for laboratories that want a simple and clean way to prepare paraffin blocks without overheating the working area. Wax Trimmer - ToronTES™ WT is a precision-processed aluminum body, constant temperature control, and a panel design intended to reduce paraffin buildup on the operating surface.
ToronTES™ WT is a practical fit for pathology, histology, and research labs that handle paraffin blocks every day and want a compact trimming station that is easy to operate and easy to keep clean.
Wax Trimmer - ToronTES™ WT Applications
- Histology and pathology laboratories: this Wax Trimmer is suitable for routine paraffin block cleanup in histology and pathology labs. It helps remove extra wax around embedded specimens before the blocks move to storage or sectioning.
- Tissue embedding workflows: ToronTES™ WT works well beside an embedding station where freshly prepared blocks often need edge cleanup and surface trimming. This helps create a neater block shape for downstream handling.
- Microtomy preparation: the unit can also support pre-sectioning workflows by helping operators prepare paraffin blocks before they are loaded into a microtome. A cleaner block can make handling easier at the cutting stage.
- Research and teaching laboratories: this system also fits research and training environments that need a compact paraffin block trimming tool for routine specimen-preparation work.

Wax Trimmer - ToronTES™ WT Key Features
- Heated trimming surface: ToronTES™ WT provides a heated operating area designed for paraffin block trimming and cleanup during routine lab work.
- Internal constant-temperature control: the unit uses an internal temperature controller for stable heat management. This helps maintain a consistent trimming condition across daily use.
- Precision aluminum construction: the body as being formed through precision processing of special aluminum material. This supports durability and stable bench use.
- Non-aging, deformation-resistant structure: the construction is described as non-aging and resistant to deformation, which supports longer-term use in laboratory environments.
- Cleaner operating panel: the trimming panel is designed so paraffin does not remain on the operating surface easily. This helps reduce buildup and supports easier cleaning after use.
- Compact bench-top format: its compact size makes the Wax Trimmer easy to place beside an embedding station or tissue-preparation area without taking up much bench space.
Theory and Method
A Wax Trimmer works by heating a trimming surface to a controlled temperature so excess paraffin on the outside of an embedded block softens quickly. Once the wax edge is softened, the operator can trim or shape the block more easily and keep the specimen block cleaner for later handling.
ToronTES™ WT uses an internal temperature-control system to maintain a constant working temperature. This helps the trimming surface stay stable during daily operation and supports more predictable wax removal.
Because the working panel is heated and designed to keep paraffin from accumulating easily, the unit helps create a cleaner and more efficient trimming process at the bench.
