Optical Fiber Cable Tensile Testing Machine - Indoor Cable

IEC-60794-1-2 Method E1

Torontech's Optical Fiber Cable Tensile Testing Machine - Indoor Cable (for Bow Type Cables) series of Optical Cable Testing machines are designed specifically for indoor optical cables to apply tensile force on indoor optical cables; it also has an extensometer to measure the cable elongation for optical cable under tension.

In Optical Fiber Cable Tensile Testing Machine - Indoor Cable sample is wound over the approximate sized sheave, pulled at a specific rate until a pre-determined tension is applied. The test cable is further laid to rest under tension as per detail specifications, and then the attenuation and fiber length are measured.

  • Indoor Telecommunication Cables – Evaluates tensile performance of bow-type and other indoor fiber optic cables during installation.
  • FTTH and FTTx Networks – Confirms reliability of indoor drop cables used in fiber-to-the-home and office connections.
  • Building and Infrastructure Wiring – Tests cable strength when routed through conduits, risers, or tight bends in indoor settings.
  • Data Centers and IT Facilities – Ensures cables can handle mechanical stress without signal loss in high-density installations.
  • Elevator and Indoor Transport Systems – Validates performance of cables subjected to vertical pulling within confined shafts.
  • Product Development and Quality Assurance – Provides standardized IEC 60794-1-2 E1 testing for manufacturers and laboratories to certify compliance.
