Optical Fiber Cable Impact Testing Machine

Optical Fiber Cable Impact Testing Machine is used to determine the ability of optical fiber cable withstand impact in compliance with IEC-60794-1-2-E4.

  • Telecommunication Fiber Cables – Evaluates resistance to accidental impacts during handling, transport, or installation.
  • Outdoor and Harsh-Environment Cables – Confirms durability of armored and outdoor fiber optic cables exposed to mechanical shocks.
  • Elevator and Vertical Transport Systems – Tests reliability of cables subjected to sudden contact or repeated striking forces.
  • Industrial and Robotic Cabling – Validates performance of cables installed in heavy-duty environments prone to mechanical impact.
  • Automotive and Rail Wiring – Ensures cable safety and endurance under vibration and shock conditions.
  • Aerospace and Defense Applications – Demonstrates impact resilience for critical mission systems requiring stable fiber connections.
  • Certification and Quality Assurance – Provides standardized IEC 60794-1-2-E4 testing for manufacturers and laboratories.

Torontech's Optical Fiber Cable Impact Testing Machine is intended to determine the ability of optical fiber cable withstand impact, it has a hammer with a 20mm diameter to drop vertically on a cable sample fixed on a flat steel plate. It also allows single or multiple repeated impacts to be imparted on the cable sample. The energy of the impact is determined by the drop height and by the weight of the hammer.

Guide to the IEC 60794 Standard for Fiber Cables

Your network is only as sturdy as the cable protecting it. While most focus on data speeds, the physical guts matter most. To survive gritty dirt or a blistering sun, sticking to the IEC 60794 standard is a total must for anyone making or checking fiber quality. Clearing up the confusion between IEC 60793 vs IEC 60794 is the first step toward picking the right gear to make sure your cables are as tough as nails.Key TakeawaysThe Ultimate Physical Rulebook: IEC 60794 focuses purely on the physical toughness and environmental survival of complete fiber optic cables.Cable vs. Bare Fiber…
