ToronCare™ 1150 A is the enhanced-specification variant of the ToronCare™ 1150 hydraulic stretcher, adding a comprehensive suite of patient positioning functions — knee gatch, chair position, and a larger-diameter castor option — to create the most clinically versatile hospital stretcher in the ToronCare™ hydraulic series. Designed for demanding U.S. and Canadian acute care, emergency, and surgical environments, the ToronCare™ 1150 A provides caregivers with unmatched patient positioning flexibility from a single hydraulic transfer stretcher platform.

Like the ToronCare™ 1150, the 1150 A features a double hydraulic system operated by foot pedals on both sides, a radiolucent X-ray-compatible bed board, push handles for easy caregiver-assisted stretcher transportation, and multifunctional rotary PP side rails that lay flat horizontally to function as a clinical arm board for IV administration. The 1150 A additionally provides knee gatch (0° to 53°), full backrest articulation (0° to 68°), Trendelenburg / reverse Trendelenburg tilt (0° to 12°), and a chair-position configuration — enabling the stretcher hospital bed to function as a reclining chair for patient recovery, examination, or treatment.

An optional 150 mm castor configuration (with adjusted height range of 817 to 590 mm) is available for facilities with lower-clearance environments. The 1150 A's bed board is X-ray translucent, enabling diagnostic imaging directly on the stretcher in hospital without patient transfer — minimizing handling steps and reducing clinical pathway time. Theory and Method

The ToronCare™ 1150 A operates on a double hydraulic system with bilateral foot-pedal access. Height adjustment traverses 867 to 640 mm (bed board to ground), with an optional 150 mm castor configuration reducing the floor-to-board range to 817 to 590 mm for compatibility with lower-height receiving surfaces.

The hydraulic system drives all major positioning functions: backrest (0°–68°), knee gatch (0°–53°), and Trendelenburg / reverse Trendelenburg (0°–12°). The chair-position function combines backrest elevation with knee gatch depression to create a seated or semi-seated patient posture — enabling the stretcher to function as a reclining examination chair without any patient transfers, reducing the total number of handling events in a clinical workflow.

The multifunctional rotary PP side rails pivot outward and lay flat horizontally on an adjacent surface at bed level, providing a rigid arm-board platform for IV insertion, blood sampling, or medication delivery during stretcher transport. Push handles at both the head and foot ends of the stretcher allow caregivers at either end to assist in stretcher transportation in tight hospital corridors and elevator lobbies.
