Gasoline Oxidation Stability Tester

Gasoline Oxidation Stability Tester TT-525Z

Gasoline Oxidation Stability Tester TT-525Z conforms to the ASTM D525 standard. It is used to test the stability of finished gasoline under accelerated oxidation conditions. (Warning: This test method is not intended for determining the stability of gasoline components, particularly those with a high percentage of low boiling unsaturated compounds, as these may cause explosive conditions within the apparatus.)

The primary application of the Gasoline Oxidation Stability Tester TT-525Z is to determine the oxidation stability of finished gasoline, in compliance with the ASTM D525 standard. The test uses an accelerated aging method to measure the "induction period," which is the time it takes for the fuel to start degrading and forming harmful gums. This is a critical quality control test to predict the fuel's shelf life and ensure it will not cause issues like clogged fuel injectors and carburetors after long-term storage.

Key Industries

  • Petroleum Refining: This is a mandatory quality control test for refineries. They must ensure that the finished gasoline is stable and meets specifications before it is sent into the distribution system, often by blending in antioxidant additives.
  • Fuel Storage and Distribution (Midstream): Operators of pipelines and large storage terminals rely on this test to manage their inventory. The oxidation stability determines how long gasoline can be stored before it degrades, preventing the distribution of off-spec product.
  • Additive Manufacturing: Chemical companies that develop and produce antioxidant additives for gasoline use this instrument extensively in their research, development, and quality control processes to prove the effectiveness of their products.

  • The temperature control features a touch screen interface, making it user-friendly and easy to monitor.
  • The screen displays the terminal point after reaching the inflection point.
  • The instrument uses complementary type heating for fast warming and reduced power consumption.
  • The instrument bath is made of stainless steel, offering corrosion resistance and antioxidant properties. It also includes an automatic water filling system to maintain the water level.
  • The instrument can perform two experiments simultaneously, improving work efficiency.
  • The instrument can detect leaks in the testing bomb and automatically display the results.
  • The instrument features high-accuracy AJG components, offering good stability and pressure correction capabilities.
