Ferrograph Analysis Software – ToronFG™ AS
Ferrograph analysis software helps you capture, classify, and report wear debris from ferrograms with consistent workflows. ToronFG™ AS is built for wear particle image acquisition and intelligent analysis, designed to work with dual-analysis ferrographs, dual-rotary ferrographs, and thistle-tube ferrograph systems as one connected process.
The platform combines microscope-camera imaging, deep-learning recognition trained on large industrial used-oil image datasets, and standards-aligned wear analysis to support condition monitoring and root-cause investigation.
Its architecture is designed for scalability, so the software can be tailored to your lab’s reporting needs and integrated with your existing data or LIMS ecosystem.
Ferrograph Analysis Software – ToronFG™ AS Applications
- Used oil condition monitoring programs: The software supports routine ferrograph workflows so maintenance teams can track wear trends and detect changes early. Image-based classification helps you separate normal wear from abnormal wear patterns and keep the review consistent across operators.
- Wear-mode identification and maintenance decisions: Microscope image capture plus particle-type recognition supports faster interpretation of wear mechanisms such as cutting, sliding, fatigue, oxides, and other common particle classes. That helps correlate debris morphology with likely machine conditions and maintenance actions.
- Standardized reporting for QC and reliability teams: Built-in reporting and data interaction features help you generate repeatable records, share results across teams, and support internal documentation requirements.
- Multi-instrument laboratories: ToronFG™ AS is positioned for labs running multiple ferrograph platforms, supporting collaborative, end-to-end operation across compatible ferrograph instruments and cameras.

Standards
- ASTM D7690 – Microscopic characterization of wear and contaminant particles deposited on ferrograms.
- ASTM D7684 – Terminology and description guidance for particle morphology used in microscopic particle identification workflows.

Theory and Method
ToronFG™ AS follows a practical analytical ferrograph workflow from image capture through interpretation. First, a microscope camera captures high-clarity ferrogram images with strong color reproduction for reliable particle contrast.
Next, a deep-learning recognition model classifies wear particles based on patterns learned from industrial used-oil image samples, supporting consistent categorization at scale.
Then, the software organizes results into an analysis and reporting layer aligned with analytical ferrography practice, so you can review particle types, document findings, and export data for maintenance trending.
