Analytical Balance
Seven ToronAB™ platforms for precise mass measurement in pharmaceutical, chemical, industrial, and research applications.
Torontech analytical balances apply electromagnetic force restoration (EMFR) sensing across a seven-platform range covering 0.01 mg semi-micro precision through 10 mg industrial readability. The ToronAB™ series addresses pharmaceutical QC, chemical analysis, food production, and industrial weighing across a single catalog. Calibration options include external reference weights, auto-timed internal calibration, and touchscreen-triggered one-click recalibration. All platforms support RS232 connectivity, GLP/GMP output, and external calibration.
The 0.01 mg and 0.1 mg models target sub-milligram precision tasks in pharmaceutical formulation, microchemistry, and reference standard preparation. The 1 mg platforms cover higher-capacity weighing for production QC and bulk ingredient measurement. A 10 mg top-loading model handles up to 5,100 g with a 180 × 180 mm square pan for industrial weighing. Display options span color touchscreen and traditional HD LCD.

Applications
Analytical balances serve laboratories, production facilities, and research institutions where precise mass measurement determines product quality, formulation accuracy, or compliance with regulatory requirements. The ToronAB™ range covers bench-scale analytical applications as well as production-floor environments where capacity and temperature tolerance are also selection criteria.
- Pharmaceutical R&D and Quality Control: weighing active pharmaceutical ingredients, excipients, and formulation components to pharmacopoeial specifications; GLP/GMP output supports audit trails and documentation requirements
- Chemical Analysis Laboratories: preparation of reagent solutions, gravimetric determinations, and standard solution formulation at sub-milligram to 1 mg resolution
- Food Science and Nutraceuticals: ingredient measurement for product development, nutritional formulation, and specification verification where accurate starting mass is required for downstream analysis
- Industrial Production and QC: bulk material verification, batch fill monitoring, and component ratio checking with the higher-capacity 1 mg and 10 mg models
- Materials Science and Polymers: weighing catalyst quantities, polymer fractions, and coating samples for density and composition studies
- Academic and Research Institutions: high-precision weighing for quantitative chemistry, instrument calibration, and reference sample preparation
- Environmental and Agricultural Testing: sample mass determination before digestion, extraction, or spectrometric analysis requiring a known-dry starting mass
- Gold, Jewelry, and Precious Metals: precise mass measurement at 0.1 mg to 1 mg readability for trade, assay, and hallmarking applications
Analytical Balance Range
Seven ToronAB™ platforms address three readability tiers: 0.01 mg for semi-micro pharmaceutical use, 0.1 mg for standard analytical and touchscreen workflows, and 1 mg to 10 mg for high-capacity production weighing. Select the model that matches your required precision, capacity, and calibration preference.

How to Choose the Right Analytical Balance
- For sub-milligram precision at 0.01 mg readability: choose the SM Series for pharmaceutical API weighing, microchemistry, and semi-micro preparations; single and dual-range configurations available
- For standard 0.1 mg laboratory use with the widest capacity (up to 300 g): choose the ToronAB™ Series; N models add auto-internal calibration for continuous-use environments
- For 0.1 mg precision in a compact 305 mm housing with 12 on-board functions: choose the MF Series for benches where space is limited or the balance needs to be repositioned
- For a touchscreen interface with built-in density kit: choose the T Series when both mass measurement and density determination are required on one instrument
- For high-capacity weighing at 1 mg resolution (up to 1,200 g): choose the P Series for production QC and bulk ingredient workflows; N models include auto-internal calibration
- For compact 1 mg laboratory use with a choice of EMFR or load-cell sensing: choose the E Series for general analytical and routine QC applications
- For industrial or batch weighing at 10 mg resolution with a large square pan: choose the NP Series for capacities up to 5,100 g and oversized vessels or bulk containers
- For operation outside the standard 18–23°C laboratory climate: the P Series, E Series, and NP Series all support a 15–30°C working temperature range
