Semi Automatic Anti Foam Test for Lubricating Oil

Semi Automatic Anti Foam Test for Lubricating Oil TT-892BZ

Semi Automatic Anti Foam Test for Lubricating Oil TT-892BZ aligns with the ASTM D892 Standard Test Method for Foaming Characteristics of Lubricating Oils.

Semi Automatic Anti Foam Test for Lubricating Oil TT-892BZ is utilized for evaluating the foaming characteristics of lubricating oils at temperatures of 24°C and 93.5°C. It provides a means for empirically rating both the foaming tendency and the stability of the foam.

The primary application of the Semi Automatic Anti Foam Test for Lubricating Oil TT-892BZ is to evaluate the foaming characteristics of lubricating oils, in compliance with the ASTM D892 standard. The instrument automates the timing and airflow control to empirically measure both the foaming tendency (how much foam is created) and foam stability (how long it lasts) at 24°C and 93.5°C. This is a critical quality control test, as excessive foaming can severely impair a lubricant's ability to protect components, leading to increased wear and potential equipment failure.

Key Industries

  • Lubricant Manufacturing: This is a fundamental quality control and product development test. The semi-automatic features improve the efficiency and repeatability for lubricant blenders who must ensure their formulations (engine oils, hydraulic fluids, gear oils, etc.) have effective anti-foam properties to meet industry and OEM specifications.
  • Automotive: This is a crucial test for all automotive fluids, including engine oils, automatic transmission fluids, and hydraulic oils. Foaming in these systems can lead to poor lubrication, overheating, and damage to critical components like bearings, gears, and pumps.
  • Industrial Manufacturing: This test is essential for a wide range of industrial applications. In large hydraulic systems, gearboxes, compressors, and turbines, foaming can cause cavitation, oxidation, and a loss of lubrication, resulting in costly downtime and equipment damage.

  • Adopts an integrated structure comprising three parts: the low-temperature constant temperature section and its control component, and the high-temperature constant temperature section and its control component. The low-temperature constant temperature section is equipped with a portable cooler.
  • Once the constant temperature point is set, the instrument will automatically enter a state of constant temperature. The temperature controller features a parameter correction function. If the displayed temperature differs from the temperature measured by the thermometer, the required temperature can be achieved through correction.
  • The instrument features automatic timing and alarm functions. Upon reaching the constant temperature point and activating the timing switch, the timer will automatically begin counting and initiate airflow simultaneously. After 5 minutes, the airflow will automatically cease and remain static for 10 minutes. Following this, the instrument will sound an alarm to indicate the completion of the current sample test.
