Standard Tissue Cassette Printer — ToronPath™ TC
ToronPath™ TC is a versatile, compact tissue cassette printer engineered to meet the cassette labeling needs of small-to-medium pathology and histology laboratories. Available in two technology variants — thermal printing (ToronPath™ TC) and infrared laser printing (ToronPath™ TC-i) — this cassette printer pathology solution offers laboratories the flexibility to select the printing method that best aligns with their workflow, throughput, and budget requirements.
Both variants deliver high-quality, chemically resistant cassette markings suitable for long-term archival. The ToronPath™ TC tissue cassette printer features an elegant, space-saving design with an instrument width of ≤ 110 mm — making it one of the most compact cassette printers available for bench-constrained laboratory environments. A 7-inch capacitive touchscreen, Wi-Fi connectivity, and a U-shaped deflector for easy cassette retrieval round out a feature set designed for ease of use and operational efficiency.
Standard Tissue Cassette Printer — ToronPath™ TC Applications
The ToronPath™ TC tissue cassette printer is suited for:
- Small and medium anatomic pathology and histology laboratories with moderate cassette throughput requirements
- Point-of-care and satellite pathology locations where compact footprint and wireless connectivity are priorities
- Surgical pathology grossing stations requiring on-demand, real-time cassette labeling
- Veterinary pathology and specialty diagnostic laboratories
- Pathology training programs and academic departments requiring a reliable, easy-to-operate cassette labeling solution
- Laboratories transitioning from handwritten cassette labeling to a digital LIS/HIS-integrated cassette printer pathology workflow

Standard Tissue Cassette Printer — ToronPath™ TC Key Features
- Dual-technology platform: select thermal printing (300 dpi) or infrared laser printing (2,500 dpi) to match laboratory workflow and throughput requirements
- Ultra-compact design with instrument width of ≤ 110 mm — one of the narrowest footprints among tissue cassette printers available, significantly saving valuable bench space
- U-shaped deflector output design simplifies cassette retrieval after printing, reducing operator handling time and ergonomic strain
- 7-inch capacitive touchscreen interface for intuitive, responsive operation and print management
- Multi-mode data transmission via USB, Wi-Fi, Ethernet, and Serial ports, supporting both wired and wireless laboratory environments
- Free drag-and-drop print layout editor within the cassette printing area; supports multiple pre-configured templates for flexible cassette design
- Clearly prints text, alphanumeric characters, symbols, barcodes, and other identification data on tissue cassette surfaces
- Chemically resistant markings — imprints withstand exposure to xylene and alcohol, enabling long-term specimen preservation
- Output collection capacity of ≥ 5 cassettes per cycle; loading capacity of ≥ 6 slots
- Professional slide loading and output device compatibility for organized cassette processing
- Compatible with LIS, HIS, PIS, PACS, and other commonly used hospital and laboratory information systems

Theory and Method
The ToronPath™ TC is available in two printing technology variants, each optimized for different laboratory priorities:
Thermal Printing Variant (ToronPath™ TC): The thermal variant uses direct thermal transfer technology to produce cassette markings. A precision thermal print head applies controlled heat to transfer a thermosensitive coating onto the cassette surface, producing high-contrast, durable markings.Thermal printing offers a proven, reliable, and cost-effective solution for standard cassette labeling needs, with a print speed of approximately 5–7 seconds per cassette and a print resolution of 300 dpi.
Infrared Laser Printing Variant (ToronPath™ TC-i): The infrared laser variant employs a focused infrared laser beam to permanently mark the cassette surface through thermal ablation. This non-contact process delivers significantly higher print resolution (2,500 dpi) with no consumable media, making it well-suited for laboratories requiring barcode and QR code clarity on cassette surfaces. Print speed is ≤ 4 seconds per cassette. Both variants support free drag-and-drop print layout editing within the print area, enabling fully customizable cassette designs. A professional slide loading and output system, combined with a U-shaped deflector, ensures smooth and safe cassette handling throughout the printing cycle.
