Petroleum Wax Melting Point Apparatus (Cooling Curve Method) TT-87 adheres to ASTM D87, the Standard Test Method for Melting Point of Petroleum Wax (Cooling Curve).
This method is utilized for determining the melting point (cooling curve) of petroleum wax. However, it is not suitable for waxes belonging to the petrolatum group, microcrystalline waxes, or blends of such waxes with paraffin wax or scale wax.
The Torontech TT-87 is used to determine the melting point of petroleum wax according to the ASTM D87 cooling curve method. This test provides a fundamental quality control measurement, establishing the precise temperature at which wax solidifies. This characteristic is critical for ensuring lot-to-lot consistency and predicting the wax's performance in its final application.
