Hospital Bassinet (Premium) - ToronCare™ 6800

ToronCare™ 6800 premium hospital newborn bassinet brings full positioning control to maternity and obstetrics units, combining two-way tilt, adjustable height, and a clear acrylic basin in one mobile unit. A spring-loaded column raises and lowers the bed and tilts it up to 11 degrees in either direction, so caregivers position the infant for feeding, reflux relief, or examination. The transparent PMMA basin gives an unobstructed view of the baby and resists scratching with daily use. A foot-pedal brake keeps the unit firm to park.

Designed for the obstetrics and gynecology ward, the ToronCare™ 6800 keeps the newborn at the mother's side while giving staff precise control over height and angle. Separate hand wrenches set the tilt and the lift, and a spring system holds each position once the lock is released and reset. The height adjusts between 840 and 970 mm, bringing the infant to a comfortable working level for seated or standing care. An under-frame protective grille and a base platform add safe storage for supplies.

Two-way tilt, adjustable height, and a scratch-resistant acrylic basin make the ToronCare™ 6800 the top model in the ToronCare™ line. Qualitest supplies it for hospitals, maternity centers, and obstetrics units that want full positioning control in a mobile newborn bed.

Hospital Bassinet (Premium) - ToronCare™ 6800 Key Features

The ToronCare™ 6800 offers the fullest positioning and material set in the ToronCare™ range.

  • Two-Way Tilt (±11°): tilts the basin head-up or head-down for reflux relief, comfort, and clinical positioning, holding the angle steady.
  • Spring-Assisted Height Adjustment (840 to 970 mm): raises and lowers the bed smoothly with a hand wrench to suit seated or standing caregivers.
  • Clear PMMA Acrylic Basin: gives high optical clarity and scratch resistance for a lasting, unobstructed view of the newborn.
  • ABS Support Cradle: cushions the basin and stands up to daily handling.
  • Foot-Pedal Brake: step-on, step-off braking locks the casters for a secure, stable position.
  • Under-Frame Protective Grille: adds a guarded lower frame with a base platform for storing supplies.
  • Quiet Operation (under 50 dB): noiseless casters and damped controls keep the ward calm during movement and adjustment.

Theory and Method

The ToronCare™ 6800 puts position control in the caregiver's hands through a spring-loaded column and two release wrenches. One wrench frees the tilt, the other frees the lift, and a compression spring carries the load so the bed moves smoothly rather than dropping under its own weight. Releasing a wrench unlocks the motion, and setting it again locks the bed at the chosen height or angle. Because the spring damps the action, a single caregiver can raise, lower, or tilt the bed in a controlled way.

Tilt runs both ways, up to 11 degrees in each direction. Raising the head end uses gravity to help reduce milk reflux and ease breathing, while lowering it supports clinical positioning when a care team needs the head below the feet. A flat setting returns the basin to a level sleeping surface. This two-way range gives more positioning options than a single head-up tilt, which suits the varied needs of an obstetrics ward.

The basin is molded from PMMA (poly(methyl methacrylate), or acrylic), a glass-clear plastic with high optical clarity and surface hardness, so it stays transparent and resists scratching through repeated cleaning. An ABS support cradle holds the basin and absorbs handling shocks. The frame uses welded steel tube that combines structural carbon steel with 304-grade stainless for strength and corrosion resistance, and it carries the bed on four casters with a foot-pedal brake for stable parking.
