Theory and Method

The ToronCubator™ ToronCubator™ FH-X operates on a closed-loop dual-parameter control principle, managing temperature and relative humidity as independent but coordinated variables within a single working chamber. The BRIGHT II intelligent control system continuously reads live data from imported precision temperature and humidity sensors, then adjusts outputs from the refrigeration, heating, and humidification subsystems to maintain setpoint conditions within tight tolerances.

Temperature Control

Temperature regulation is handled through a variable-frequency compressor-based refrigeration circuit working in combination with electric resistance heating elements. Unlike fixed-speed compressors, the variable-frequency drive modulates compressor output in proportion to the measured deviation from setpoint. This results in temperature fluctuation held to ±0.3°C — tighter than standard incubator designs — along with reduced energy draw and extended compressor service life. A high-performance imported fan provides uniform air distribution, achieving spatial temperature uniformity within ±0.8°C at 25°C across the 150 L to 800 L range, and within ±1°C for the 1000 L and 1600 L configurations. The operating range extends from -10°C to 85°C without humidification (150–800 L models) and 0°C to 85°C for the larger configurations.

Humidity Control

Humidity management operates through a sensor-feedback loop connected to an electric heating humidification system. The imported RH sensor continuously monitors chamber conditions, and the control system modulates moisture introduction from the automatically replenished internal water supply to maintain the target humidity level. The ToronCubator™ FH-X delivers a humidity operating range of 15% to 98% RH on the 150–800 L models, with fluctuation within ±2% RH — one of the tighter performance bands available in this equipment category. The 1000 L and 1600 L models operate from 20% to 98% RH with fluctuation within ±3% RH.

Data Management and Connectivity

All program parameters, test profiles, and session data are stored in non-volatile internal memory with a retention period exceeding 10 years. Programs are structured as multi-segment sequences supporting up to 30 configurable segments per cycle and up to 99 repeatable cycles. USB, RS232, and RS485 interfaces allow direct integration with external data acquisition systems, LIMS platforms, and building automation infrastructure. Multi-level password management controls parameter access and protects data integrity across multi-user environments.
