Copper Strip Corrosion Tester

Copper Strip Corrosion Tester TT-130

Copper Strip Corrosion Tester TT-130 conforms to the ASTM D130 standard. This apparatus determines the corrosiveness of various substances to copper, including aviation gasoline, aviation turbine fuel, automotive gasoline, cleaners (Stoddard) solvent, kerosene, diesel fuel, distillate fuel oil, lubricating oil, and natural gasoline, or other hydrocarbons with a vapor pressure no greater than 124 kPa (18 psi) at 37.8°C (930mmHg).

It serves as a valuable laboratory instrument in the petroleum, chemical industry, transportation, and scientific research in colleges and universities.

The primary application of the Copper Strip Corrosion Tester TT-130 is to determine the corrosiveness of a wide range of petroleum products to copper, in compliance with the ASTM D130 standard. The test involves immersing a polished copper strip in the product under controlled temperature conditions and then visually comparing it to a standard chart. This is a crucial quality control test to ensure that fuels and lubricants will not corrode copper and copper-alloy components (like fuel lines, bearings, and coolers) in storage and service.

Key Industries

  • Petroleum Refining: This is an essential quality control test for nearly all refinery products, including gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, and lubricating oils. It is a mandatory step to certify that these products are non-corrosive and meet commercial specifications.
  • Automotive and Aerospace: These industries are major consumers of the products tested. The test ensures that fuels and lubricants will not attack and damage the copper and bronze components found in fuel systems, hydraulic systems, and engines of vehicles and aircraft.
  • Pipeline and Transportation (Midstream): Operators of pipelines and storage terminals use this test to check product quality during transfer and storage. It helps prevent corrosion within their infrastructure and ensures that the product remains on-spec as it moves through the supply chain.

  • The instrument facilitates four-way experiments, significantly enhancing testing efficiency.
  • It offers a broad range of water bath options, ensuring more stable results.
  • Features include digital display of water temperature, with temperature control accuracy of ±0.1 ℃, spanning from room temperature to 100 ℃.
  • The instrument features a simple yet elegant structure.

1. Rated Voltage: AC 220V±10% 50Hz (110V also available)
2. Power: 1800W
3. Control Precision: ±0.5℃
4. Ambient Temperature: Operating temperature range: 10 to 40℃; Humidity should be ≤85%.
