TORONTECH’S METALLOSCOPE SUPPORTS SCIENCE AND EDUCATION WORLDWIDE

Inverted Metallurgical Microscope - Metallograph XJP-6A

When using a microscope to study metal samples in a laboratory, portability, and ease of use are the primary concerns – a bulky and inconvenient microscope will only complicate the inspection process. Torontotech has addressed this problem with its SM 500 Metalloscope, a self-contained portable metallurgical microscope.

Metallographic inspections have become significantly easier with the SM 500 Metalloscope’s fully handheld design and magnetic stand, which allows the SM 500 to be mounted directly against the surface of ferrous metals at any angle (allowing for examination on flat, curved, and other complicated surfaces). The SM 500 can be used with a digital camera, 35mm camera, or CCD image processing system. This enables images to be easily downloaded onto a PC for data transfer, analysis, storage, and printout.

The state-of-the-art design of this microscope recently led one of the Science and Education Ministries in Africa to source the SM 500 from Torontotech. With a wide range of optional accessories, and its non-destructive examination technique, Torontech’s SM 500 Metalloscope will help this Ministry to train both scientists and students in current metallurgical practices for years to come.
