To ensure a material is suitable for precise manufacturing applications, it is essential that the prepared specimen possesses highly specific physical characteristics. In many cases, samples must be subjected to tension until they meet their breaking point to test material strength, which is a difficult and time-consuming operation.

Torontech offers the ideal machines to prepare high quality and accurate specimens for manufacturing. One of these Sample Preparation Machines, the TT-Tensile Lathe I, is a compact numerical control lathe that is configured for testing various metal and non-metal materials. Torontech recently supplied one of these Tensile Lathes to UNIFOR for use in their aluminum testing process, which will ensure that UNIFOR continues to produce the highest quality aluminum forgings.

To help UNIFOR maintain efficient operations, the controller of the lathe is user-friendly and does not require extensive training for machine operators. The high-performance turret head and the tail stock in the lathe enable operators to reach spindle speeds of 4000 rpm. With a rapid feed speed of 6000mm/min and a built-in cover that protects the operator from debris, this equipment will help UNIFOR maintain the highest standards of precision, durability, safety, and strength.
